In Studio
As a dancer and teacher in Toronto, I noticed a disconnect between the training dancers were pursuing and their overall well-being and ability to feel like it was “enough”. This bothered me.
I felt called to create a workshop dedicated to the intention “dance as practice”. Inspired by my training in yoga and Qi Gong, Expressive Movement Workshops are a space for slow, present connection in dance. Before we get to the music and the steps, can we find ourselves present, and whole in our own bodies?
Students training and competing at elite levels need a dedicated space to get to know their own movement, without the pressure of performance.
